As a key actor in Hungary’s defence innovation ecosystem, VIKI cannot operate effectively without holding a visible and respected position within the global defence innovation network.

VIKI’s bilateral relations are defined by balanced and mutually beneficial partnerships. In our bilateral framework, we continuously seek to establish new partnerships, thereby expanding our network. The same principles guide our multilateral collaborations as well.

Through cooperation with EU Member States and NATO allies, we bring home valuable capabilities and expertise—often filling critical gaps—which enable the Hungarian defence innovation ecosystem to make significant qualitative advances.

Programs such as the NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) and the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) offer financial support to Hungarian partners. DIANA aims to accelerate the development and market access of dual-use technologies—innovations applicable in both civilian and defence sectors—via NATO’s extensive partner network. NIF, on the other hand, is a venture capital fund supporting breakthrough technologies and startups in the defence and security sectors, with a focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and advanced materials.

The European Defence Fund (EDF) complements financial support with the promotion of international cooperation among legal entities from EU Member States and Norway, ultimately strengthening Europe’s autonomous defence capabilities.

VIKI plays an active and initiator role in all of these efforts, acting as a fair intermediary that helps integrate Hungarian actors into international networks, supports them throughout the application processes and promotes consortium building in every possible way.
