On June 25, we had the privilege of co-hosting a forward-looking workshop in collaboration with the Hungarian Defence Industry Association (MVSZ). The event brought together experts, researchers, and defence professionals to examine how emerging technologies could shape the future of national security.

On June 24–25, 2025, the Defence Innovation Research Institute visited the Hungarian Defence Forces’ vitéz László Reviczky 1st Territorial Defence Regiment in Gödöllő, where they showcased the “Hadik Crate”—a cutting-edge toolkit designed to enhance military training through the use of XR technologies, including virtual, augmented, and mixed reality.

On June 18, 2025, representatives of Saab visited the Defence Innovation Research Institute of Hungary in Budapest to discuss the deepening of bilateral cooperation under the strategic framework agreement signed by the Ministers of Defence of Sweden and Hungary in October 2024.

The 2nd hHYBRID Defence Competition brought together 16 Budapest-based cadet-training secondary schools for a trulyhybrid challenge — combining physical endurance, mental skills, and virtual environment performance.

On a recent professional visit to the Defence Innovation and Research Institute (VIKI), General Dr Gábor Böröndi, Chief of the Hungarian Defence Staff, received an in-depth briefing on the Institute’s current research, development, and innovation projects. One of VIKI’s core missions is to support the transformation of the Hungarian Defence Forces through cutting-edge defence research and technology development.

On May 19, we successfully held the 4th Hungarian National EDF Information Day at the D50 Hotel in Budapest — with over 150 professionals from hashtag#government, industry, and academia joining the event.
