On 2 September 2026, VIKI welcomed representatives of the Defence Attaché Office of the Republic of Korea in Hungary to its headquarters for a focused exchange on future areas of collaboration.
We were honoured to host Colonel Sung Woo Wee, Defence Attaché of the Republic of Korea, joined online from Seoul by members of the Korea C-UAS Industry.
The delegation was received by Mr. Krisztián Busa, Head of Department for Defence Innovation and Capability Development and Dr. Gergely Németh, CEO of VIKI, who introduced the Hungarian defence innovation efforts, and VIKI’s role within Hungary’s security and technology ecosystem, alongside its mission, portfolio and current priorities. The Korean delegation presented its expertise and achievements, as well as its perspectives on potential cooperation with Hungarian partners.
Experts from the Hungarian Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces also contributed to the discussion, offering operational and institutional insights and engaging directly with Korean companies on key technological issues.
A key focus was counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) and the potential for closer industrial cooperation in this field. Participants also discussed how the Hungarian Ministry of Defence (HUN MOD) and VIKI could help foster partnerships between Hungarian and Korean companies by bringing together complementary technical expertise, industry experience and promising opportunities for collaboration.
The exchange reflected a broader shared interest in strengthening professional and industrial links between the two countries at a time when cross-border knowledge sharing and trusted partnerships are becoming increasingly important in the new age of accelerating change.
