On June 24–25, 2025, the Defence Innovation Research Institute visited the Hungarian Defence Forces’ vitéz László Reviczky 1st Territorial Defence Regiment in Gödöllő, where they showcased the “Hadik Crate”—a cutting-edge toolkit designed to enhance military training through the use of XR technologies, including virtual, augmented, and mixed reality.
During the two-day workshop, participating soldiers took on various roles—such as rifleman, sniper, and drone pilot—to test the capabilities of the system in action. Alongside the hands-on experience, VIKI’s team closely monitored user feedback, practical challenges, and specific phenomena like cyber sickness, aiming to gather in-depth insights into real-world usage.
The event was part of a broader research initiative focused on understanding how XR-based solutions can be effectively integrated into military applications. The Gödöllő workshop marked a significant milestone in this journey, offering valuable feedback and practical experience to help shape the direction of future development. For VIKI, these on-site trials are essential to ensuring that the technology evolves in response to real needs and delivers operationally viable solutions.
