The 2nd hHYBRID Defence Competition brought together 16 Budapest-based cadet-training secondary schools for a trulyhybrid challenge — combining physical endurance, mental skills, and virtual environment performance.
Organized by the Budapest Metropolitan Defence Committee Secretariat, the event highlighted the growing need for dual-domain readiness: competence in both kinetic and digital spaces.
During the afternoon session, cadets completed tasks using VIKI’s XR-based cognitive assessment platform, designed to evaluate real-time mental/physical performance. The system measured indicators such as focused attention, response time, and stress adaptation under time pressure.
For VIKI, events like this provide valuable feedback on the operational application of research-based tools — supporting refinement, user-centered development, and alignment with defence capability needs.
