Dr. Gergely Németh takes on CEO Role at Hungary’s Defence Innovation Research Institute.

As of September 2024, Dr. Gergely Németh is the Chief Executive Officer of the Defence Innovation Research Institute of Hungary. With over a decade of experience in NATO and Hungarian defence and armament planning as well as startegic analysis, Dr. Németh will focus on advancing defence technology and strategic research initiatives.

Previously, he served as the Head of Strategic Foresight at NATO Supreme Allied Command Transformation, where he led key projects in long-term security planning. His role now centers on strengthening Hungary’s defence capabilities through innovation and research.

His appointment marks an important new phase for VIKI, as we work toward building a bridge for the Hungarian Defence Forces into the future of modern warfare. Our shared goal is to ensure that the defence forces are equipped with the most advanced tools and technologies, enabling them to operate effectively in tomorrow’s complex operational environments. This approach is not only essential for adapting to the rapidly evolving technological and warfare landscape but also for ensuring continued innovation and resilience, building on our achievements so far.
