This year, Hungary has celebrated the 25th anniversary of its accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). On March 12, 2024, the anniversary was marked with a demonstration by the Hungarian Defence Forces in Tata, at the Szomod Shooting Range, where the Defence Innovation Research Institute also participated.
At the celebration, attendees were able to witness a live-fire demonstration and display of combat vehicles from the NATO troops, which included Hungarian-led Italian and Croatian soldiers, as well as the most advanced combat equipment of the Hungarian Defence Forces. As part of the exhibition, VIKI gave an insight into the future of military technology, presenting its innovative developments tot he guests present.
“In the past 25 years, this has been a significant focus: the Hungarian army has transformed, replaced and modernised its old equipments and capabilities with 21st century, largely digital, NATO-compatible systems”, emphasised Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovinczky, Minister of Defence.
