At this year’s Brain Bar, the Defence Innovation and Research Institute was proud to be featured in several thought-provoking and forward-looking panels.
The event kicked off with an engaging session featuring VIKI, where biomedical engineer Bertalan Thuróczy and Kata Stumpf explored the practical applications of useful tech in our everyday lives. Their insights set the tone for a day full of inspiring conversations.
Later, in a fascinating panel focused on digital innovation, XR/VR researcher and military digital specialist Gergely Kovács represented the Defence Innovation and Research Institute. His talk delved into the rising influence of deep fakes, the possibilities and risks of digital clones, and the growing importance of virtual reality-based training systems in shaping the future of defence.
Another standout discussion titled COLLECTIVE (IN)SECURITY brought together Barbara McQuiston, Chair of the Board for NATO DIANA; Patrick Schneider-Sikorsky, deep tech investor at NIF; and Imre Porkolab, CEO of VIKI. This eye-opening panel explored the future of NATO and its evolving role in an increasingly fragmented world.
We’re grateful to Brain Bar for the opportunity to take part in such vital conversations about the future of innovation, security, and global cooperation.
