On 9 August, the Defence Innovation Research Institute took part in the Military Song Festival in Zalaapáti, an event dedicated to preserving Hungary’s military traditions and strengthening the sense of community built around them.
Military songs, camaraderie and patriotism are an important part of Hungary’s cultural and military heritage, connecting generations through shared traditions and historical memory. For VIKI, the festival also provided an opportunity to bring a 21st-century defence innovation perspective to this unique setting.
At the VIKI stand, visitors had the opportunity to learn more about some of the solutions currently being developed for the Hungarian Defence Forces and experience our in-house developed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) simulator first-hand.
We believe that respect for our military heritage and openness to emerging technologies go hand in hand. Preserving traditions while developing new capabilities is essential to ensuring that we are prepared for the challenges shaping the future of defence.
