VIKI and Saab Make Further Progress Together.
A cooperation declaration containing the concrete steps of joint work was established between the Defence Innovation and Research Institute of Hungary, overseen by the Ministry of Defence, and the Swedish conglomerate Saab, announced by Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, the Minister of Defence of Hungary.
The minister stated that László Deme, the designated CEO of VIKI Deputy State Secretary for Force Development and Defence Innovation, negotiated with Saab’s management and aligned the specific steps of joint work with the Swedish conglomerate along the points of cooperation identified in the area of extended reality (XR) technologies
As known, based on the agreement signed in March between the Ministry of Defence and Saab, a Center of Excellence using artificial intelligence will be established. The Swedish side will participate, among other things, in the development of virtual training needs for the Hungarian Air Force’s tactical aviation capabilities and supporting operational capacities. In relation to this, the center, coordinated by the Defence Innovation and Research Institute of Hungary from the Hungarian side, will launch a pilot project for maintenance training supported by artificial intelligence (AI).
