On May 30th, Balázs Hendrich, Deputy CEO of VIKI, had the opportunity to attend the NATO DIANA DEMO DAY.
The event was hosted at the Microsoft New England Research and Development Center in Massachusetts, where Balázs Henrdich held discussions with, among others, Fiona Murray, Vice Chair of the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) Board of Directors, and Rob Murray, Saab Chief Innovation Officer.
The event was organized by MassChallenge, the NSIN – National Security Innovation Network, and NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (NATO DIANA) with the goal of bringing together innovators, military end-users, government organizations, investors, and industry leaders.
During the DEMO DAY, the 13 winning deep tech startups that successfully entered the DIANA pilot portfolio were introduced. These tenders were selected from around 1300 applications from across the NATO Alliance. In their brief presentations, participants could learn about the companies’ portfolios and the dual-use technological solutions they focus on in three areas: energy resilience, secure information sharing, and sensing & surveillance.
At VIKI we are well aware of the potential within the Hungarian knowledge base. Therefore, we are waiting for the new NATO DIANA Challenge announcements, and we encourage as many Hungarian startups as possible to apply and showcase their new innovative ideas and solutions.
