Strengthening International Collaboration

In November, 2024, VIKI’s CEO, Dr. Gergely Németh had the privilege of hosting a Swedish delegation, including representatives from the FOI, the Swedish Ministry of Defence, the FMV – Försvarets materielverk, and the Swedish Defence Attaché accredited to Hungary.

The meeting provided a platform to explore areas of collaboration in cutting-edge technologies, particularly in XR/AR development, where VIKI is already partnering with Saab. Discussions also highlighted VIKI’s commitment to advancing defence-related technological research and enhancing capabilities for secure international cooperation.

Looking ahead, both parties emphasized the importance of institutionalizing the partnership, with a structured approach to knowledge sharing and regular expert exchanges. A Letter of Intent (LOI) was identified as a next step, facilitating deeper collaboration in alignment with NATO and EU standards.

The success of this meeting was driven by the expertise of Brigadier General Olle Hultgren (The Swedish Ministry of Defence), Per Anderson (The Swedish Ministry of Defence), Sofia Jonsson (FOI), Col. Laci Bonivart (FMV – Försvarets materielverk), Col. Niclas Berger (Swedish Armed Forces), Ylva Pettersson (FMV – Försvarets materielverk), and Lieutenant Colonel Stefan Fredriksson (Swedish Defence Attaché). We also thank our colleagues Gergely Kovács, Kriszti Szabó, and Attila Magos for their input and contributions.

This meeting underscores VIKI’s dedication to fostering strong international partnerships and driving innovation in defence technology.
