Over the past few weeks, our team of experts participated in a comprehensive professional program to explore the latest developments and capabilities of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

In November, 2024, VIKI’s CEO, Dr. Gergely Németh had the privilege of hosting a Swedish delegation, including representatives from the FOI, the Swedish Ministry of Defence, the FMV – Försvarets materielverk, and the Swedish Defence Attaché accredited to Hungary. 

On December 9-10, 2024, we hosted our first ‘Technology and Defence – The Future of Warfare’ conference at the Museum of Ethnography in Budapest, bringing together leaders, innovators, and experts to explore the transformative role of technology in defence. 

On November 12, 2024, the Hungarian Presidency hosted the EUMC Mini Away Day at the Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Center Brussels in Brussels, focusing on “Defence Industry and Innovation.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an engaging roundtable discussion on intellectual property (IP) protection in the civil and defence market. The evening provided valuable insights into the strategic importance of IP as a business tool, especially for dual-use technologies that serve both sectors.

Innovation in the defence sector goes beyond technological advancement; it is about achieving strategic advantages and ensuring resilience in a rapidly evolving environment. Enhancing collaboration between German and Hungarian dual-use ecosystems is vital for unlocking new synergies and fostering a competitive edge across Europe. 

On October 28, VIKI’s expert team visited the Hungarian Defence Forces’ Klapka György 1st Armored Brigade in Tata. This visit aimed to strengthen professional connections and deepen VIKI’s understanding of the Defence Forces’ needs.
